LEGO Star Wars 7965 Review – Millennium Falcon

Full Product Review

There is probably no other LEGO set as popular and recognized as the Millennium Falcon set. The LEGO Star Wars 7965 (as that is its code name) has been with us since 2011 and quickly established itself as the greatest LEGO set of that time.

Lego Star Wars 7965

Including the mini figures of the famous Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Ben Kenobi, Princess Leia Organa, Chewbacca and the almighty anti-hero, Darth Vader (each of them carrying a mini version of their film weapon!), this set became a must-buy for all Star Wars fans. As close to the perfection as this set is, sadly, it lacks the mini figures of the iconic C-3PO and R2D2. However, such minor oversight goes almost unnoticed when dwarfed by actual features.

After The Force Awakens and (spoiler alert ahead...) the recent death of Han Solo at his son's hands, LEGO Star Wars boomed in the popularity, bringing this set back to the top again.

The construction begins:

With 1,254 pieces and almost 140 pages long instruction booklets, this set will undoubtedly become a few hours long adventure, whether you're building it alone or with someone else. During this journey, you will tap into the Millennium Falcon building schemes and recreate the famous starship's defense systems, smuggling compartments, and its right-hand cylindrical cockpit.

All constructors will be amazed by the number of stunning details such as grayish colors, strictly resembling the ones of from the film, well-crafted interior, allowing the characters to play chess, observe Luke's remote training or engage into thrilling lightsaber duels, and last but not least - ship's defense systems (including rotating laser cannons and twin flick missiles).

Conclusion

The model itself is at least impressive. Once fully built, the LEGO Star Wars 7965 is 38 cm wide and 10 cm tall. While its size makes the Millennium Falcon a perfect set for all kinds of displays and exhibitions, I cannot stop the feeling that this set fares much better for roleplay purposes. No other LEGO set bring so much to the table when it comes to reliving the epic Star Wars saga's scenes and battles.

Regardless of whether you plan on role playing or displaying if you are a Star Wars fan this set will be a great addition to your collection.
